I was raised in a working class family in a large U.S. city. My Dad drove a truck for many years and then became a Building Maintenance Supervisor. He had no pension when he retired and lived on his Social Security – barely lived that is. My Mom was a stay-at-home mother in the early years taking care of my sister, brother and me. In her later years she was a Doctor’s receptionist. She also had no pension when she retired and relied on Social Security and my sister, who took very good care of her the rest of her life.
From the first grade through the twelfth, I attended very low cost but efficient Catholic Schools, receiving an excellent education, ie., I could read, write and understand business math. I graduated from a large, urban, very low cost college with a B.A. in Political Science and a life long love of history.
My first Presidential vote cast was for George McGovern (D-SD) and I displayed an “Impeach Nixon” political button on my mussette bag on a backpacking trip through Western Europe. I got married, and am still married to the same woman, and we had three beautiful children. As I grew older, I changed my voter registration from Democrat to Republican. I remained a Republican for 29 years; about three years ago (2009), I changed my registration to Independent.
I spent approximately 22 1/2 years in law enforcement and currently work in the public sector. FreeLunchUSA.com is dedicated to all of our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews with the sole hope and purpose that they may have a better and brighter future than what we currently see happening for and to them in this great nation of ours. As many of our parents told us when we were children, there is no such thing as a free lunch, someone always has to pay for that “free” lunch. We will not rely on the likes of the Washington Post, the New York Times or the Fox News Network for the unbiased truth. We will attempt to find the most unbiased truth available and present it to you. We will also rely on all of you helping us to find the truth and educate others concerning it.
